In today’s context of globalization, with the growing number of multinational corporate legal departments and LPO’s, whatever be one’s choice of career, one can succeed in shaping a growth-oriented career path, if one is willing to explore beyond the limitations of knowledge set by the regional nature of academics and education. The curriculum followed by most of the legal institutions does not provide coverage wide enough to include international legal practices. So the goals of many of the aspiring students & professionals who dream to work in large law firms & corporate legal departments remain unfulfilled.

We feel that this training program which is designed with the help of corporate legal departments in US, India and South East Asia with focus on legal research tools, IP, legal database training, litigation support technology (details given separately) will help the law students and lawyers to gain knowledge and skills that will help open new career prospects.

Apart from training and knowing what to expect in interviews, lawyers will get career counseling from our professionals. Several of the lawyers that we have trained in the past have successfully changed their career paths to more lucrative ones. Combination of this training program, tips on resume building and career change options will make the trainees more likely to be selected in the interview process. We will work with candidates in referring them to relevant corporations and LPO firms, given their experience and interest.

Globally and especially in Asia there is tremendous growth in multinational corporate. Some of these corporate have a revenue generating model in Asia and others have a back office presence to reduce the cost of their US, UK and global operations. The legal departments of these corporations are serving the requests and the needs of their global legal operations, apart from running local legal operations. Almost all the multinational legal departments that we surveyed face a shortage of legal talent.To serve the needs of their foreign counterparts, they need additional skills that are outlined in our training program. Lawwave has aligned itself to serve the interest of the corporate legal departments in Asia by bridging this skill and knowledge gap. This is our commitment and part of our vision.

Our training program is designed to address this challenge. We started this training program three years back when Lawwave was launched. It was however only offered to Lawwave lawyers till now. The goal of our training program is to bring the best legal practices, tools and training to enable the corporate legal department to compete with their international legal departments in the quest for talent. We have conducted initial surveys with several legal counsels in Asia and the structure of this program is dictated by those surveys. We offer the trainees for hiring purposes to those corporates who support this initiative.
